Momentum Watch Tonight’s slate provided compelling validation for our Momentum PPM, especially for players exceeding their season averages. Viktor Arvidsson, with a massive four-point night for Detroit, showcased elite form, operating 73% above his season average PPM. Tage Thompson (29% above season avg), Pontus Holmberg (46% above season avg), and Logan Cooley (29% above season avg) each delivered multi-point performances that perfectly aligned with their elevated momentum signals. Notably, Mark Scheifele’s three-assist outing came even as his Momentum PPM sits 32% below his season average, a testament to raw talent breaking through the trends.

Looking Ahead With a packed schedule ahead, teams like the Buffalo Sabres will look to carry their dramatic win into their next matchup, while the Anaheim Ducks must quickly reset. The San Jose Sharks’ rapid-fire comeback could be a galvanizing force, positioning them for a mid-season surge. Keep an eye on the Ottawa Senators; their resilience in Los Angeles, despite the overtime loss, hints at a team that refuses to quit, making their next few games a must-watch for fans tracking playoff contention.
